VD Recruitment has proudly partnered with a beautiful Outstanding Montessori Nursery in North West London. We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Nursery Manager for their brand new nursery in Eastcote HA4 area with excellent transport links. 

Excellent Salary Package - £31,500 - £36,500 PA +  Loads of other Benefits (see below).

Location: Eastcote HA4

You must have strong knowledge of the EYFS, good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The Deputy Nursery Manager must be highly motivated and have a positive attitude towards working with children. Our client has achieved an OUTSTANDING award from Ofsted for their 1st setting. 

Hours – 40 hours / week working with a variety of shifts between 7.30am-6pm offering at least one half day per week

Your role as a Deputy Nursery Manager includes-

Working as part of a team to ensure the nursery runs smoothly and efficiently.

Becoming familiarised with the nursery's policies and procedures and supporting staff to follow these. 

Leading a team, encouraging and raising practice daily. 

Delegating tasks to your team to ensure the smooth running of the room. 

Sharing creative ideas and willingly involving your team in decision making for the classroom e.g., activities/planning 

Forming professional and friendly partnerships with parents and forming secure relationships with the children. 

Working as part of the Senior Management team to contribute to staff performance management and appraisals. 

Supporting the manager and deputy manager in daily running of the nursery and  overseeing the smooth  running of the nursery in the absence of the manager/ deputy. 

Staff delegation and deployment to ensure all rooms are working within the adult to child ratios. 

Oversee display boards and the setting up of a stimulating, warm environment prepared for the children including the garden in accordance with the 7 areas of learning. 

Conducting peer observations and management spot checks. Focusing on the quality of interaction and the high levels of practice. 

Creating children's health care plans. 

Mentoring and training Room Leaders. 

Being involved in parent events. 

Monitoring all daily and weekly checks are completed to a high standard.

Person Specification for the ideal Deputy Nursery Manager

Level 3 in Childcare & Education 

An extensive experience working within a Montessori classroom

Montessori qualification from MCI /AMI London will be a Plus!

Previous experience of working in a leadership role is essential. 

The ability to deliver high-quality practice and be a role model for your team.

Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding procedures.

Excellent communication skills.

Good ICT skills
