Overview

The course runs along the River Thames under the watchful eye of Windsor Castle. This is a nine-hole course, with fifteen tees, so only three holes are repeated on the back nine. At 6087 yards it is not a course that can be taken for granted, and as the Pros find out when they play, it commands respect. As a relatively flat parkland course, it is also easy walking and provides an enjoyable day’s golf for all golfers, irrespective of age and handicap.

Datchet Golf Club is one of the oldest courses in the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. There is a very good practice area where your long and short game can be fine-tuned, and PGA Head Professional Paul Cook of our Golf Academy is always on hand to give expert advice and tuition. It has a fine clubhouse, completed in 1998 following a fire that destroyed the old, mainly Wooden, structure and now has excellent bar and catering facilities. The clubhouse is also available for private hire and those special occasions.

Sunday is traditionally a competition day and these are held monthly during the winter and approximately every third week in summer. There are also monthly mid-week competitions plus a number of mixed events usually followed by a very sociable dinner. The club’s social calendar is very active with Quiz and Race Nights, Skittles Evenings, BBQ’s and many Dinner Dances, as well as regular Sunday lunches. The club is always looking to hold new and exciting events.
