Overview

We are a small independent school with a long history in Islington, catering for children between the ages of 2½ and 7. Although we are non-selective, our academic results at 7+ are outstanding and children go on to a wide range of excellent schools in north London. We are currently working on a project to expand our school to Year 6, beginning with our first Year 3 class from September 2022.

Our school is full of happy, confident, enquiring individuals who love to learn. We aim to inspire children to become independent thinkers, good communicators and to build positive relationships.

We make learning practical, inspiring, relevant and challenging, allowing every child to reach their academic potential. The curriculum is broad and we provide enrichment in many forms, from a wide array of outings, to a strong emphasis on music, art and dance.

We have inspiring teachers and highly qualified teaching assistants, who value communication between children and adults. Because of our high adult/child ratios, we have the time to listen to children. We follow their interests and identify strengths and weaknesses in order to support and challenge them in their learning.

Because families are key to children's happiness and ability to thrive, we have an open-door policy and encourage dialogue between home and school, with many opportunities for parents to get involved in the life of the school. Our parents tell us that they particularly value our warm, welcoming and loving environment and our knowledge of every child as an individual.

Being at a local school, allows both children and adults to forge local friendships that long outlast their time at the school. Children are at the centre of everything we do.
