The Mount Preparatory School

3 Binham Road , Edgerton , Huddersfield , HD2 2AP

The Mount School is a very special place indeed. We are an independent school that provides a nurturing and challenging learning experience for all children where they feel safe, happy and ready to achieve their full potential. Our curriculum is designed to ensure that all children have a wide range of learning opportunities in and out of the classroom underpinned by a deep understanding of English and mathematical excellence.

At the Mount School we understand that each child is an individual and that each individual may need a different approach to succeed. All children are taught to be independent and interdependent learners that regularly work collaboratively. This collaboration is informed by choice, creativity and a deep understanding of effective critique.

All staff are dedicated professionals that have the highest of expectations. The learning opportunities that are provided by The Mount School are immersive, inspiring and reward inquisitivity. The reputation of the school is firmly built on the foundations of academic success in 11+ entrance exams as well as a number of children being awarded scholarships for Sport, Music, Art and Drama at other secondary independent schools.

The school is set in beautiful grounds that are secure, stimulating and promote respect for the environment. The children at The Mount are given many wider responsibilities such as being classroom monitors, Team Captains, House Captains or as Head Boy or Head Girl. Such responsibilities ensure that the children have the leadership qualities and confidence to flourish at their next school.

The Mount School's greatest assets are the children. They are happy, confident, eloquent and well-mannered citizens of the future. They take great pride in their school and express this articulately and with self-assurance. We pride ourselves on setting high expectations for every individual, instilling good manners and fostering an ethic of hard work.
