With our combined wealth of experience of pregnancy, birth and post birth care, and our extensive knowledge of the NHS and ability to work independently or alongside it, we will support you to have a positive experience. We provide compassionate, personalised care in the comfort and privacy of your own home, giving us plenty of time to get to know you and your family well.
You also have access to us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for any concerns or questions you may have..
We offer appointments every 4 weeks until 28 weeks, fortnightly until 36 weeks, then weekly until birth.
During these visits we will offer to check your blood pressure, test your urine and check the growth and position of your baby,
Throughout your care we will talk about your individual needs, explore all your birth options and support you in your choices.
We offer an extended birth preparation session at 36 weeks to discuss what to expect from labour and birth, your preferences in a variety of circumstances and how to prepare for the postnatal period.
Should you require any obstetric appointments we will happily support you.
Our labour and birth care ensures you have support and continuity from midwives you know and trust.
We are on call for you from 37 weeks of pregnancy until your baby is born.
Wherever you choose to give birth we will stay with you until you are safely tucked up in bed with your new baby.
If you choose to birth at home you will have two midwives present, If you choose to birth in hospital, and if appropriate, we will offer to provide you with early labour assessment at home to ensure you go into hospital when the time is right.
*Please note that due to current Covid restrictions we may not be able to offer birth support in hospital.
We offer personalised postnatal care for the first 2, 3 or 4 weeks after birth, depending on your individual needs and wishes.
Our care includes intensive breastfeeding support, physical and emotional wellbeing checks, including weighing your baby, the newborn blood spot test and ensuring you recover well from your birth.
We provide frequent visits in the first week supporting you and your baby to get off to the best possible start.
Visits will continue for the time you have booked care for, becoming less frequent as your confidence grows and you adjust to your new family circumstances.
As a qualified Tongue Tie Practitioner and Lactation Consultant, Emily is able to offer feeding support, tongue tie assessment and division (frenulotomy) in your own home.
Appointments include a full feeding history, a tongue tie assessment (oral assessment of tongue function), and division (if appropriate), and feeding support.
If you choose to have your baby's tongue released you will receive phone support for three weeks following division for any questions or concerns.
