ireball Beach Volleyball was founded by England beach volleyball player Sam Dunbavin in late 2019. Sam was trying to find a way to live and play international beach volleyball at the same time, and Fireball was born.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Sam took on the first 'Fireball Venue' in Southeast London and set about transforming that from an unused sandpit into a thriving beach sports hub. Meanwhile, he founded the Southwest Series in Croyde and Cardiff, creating what has become the premier beach volleyball competition across the Southwest and Wales.
Sam quickly realised that there are thousands of people around the UK who want to play beach volleyball: businesses keen to hit the sand on a corporate away day, players in areas that don't have regular coaching, and new players that want to give the sport a go. He decided that Fireball's aim would be to reach these people and to grow beach volleyball across the UK.
Fireball now runs beach volleyball events in over ten venues across the country, and is ambitious in spreading the sport to more new players than ever. We retain our intense passion for delivering quality beach volleyball experiences for all levels and spreading the game to everyone who wants to play.
